KANFA AND TECHOUSE WIN THE HRSG MODULES CONTRACT FOR THE GIMI FLNG PROJECT (AND HELP TO REDUCE CO2 EMISSIONS)

USA based Black & Veatch have awarded KANFA AS with an EPF contract to supply four Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) modules for the Golar GIMI FLNG that will operate on BP’s Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field offshore Mauritania – Senegal. The project is the second conversion of an LNG carrier to a FLNG vessel that Golar is executing with Keppel in Singapore and Black & Veatch in Kansas City. The HRSG modules will be part of a combined waste heat recovery / power plant that will recover heat to produce steam for process heat and power generation in steam turbines. Compared to conventional solutions, this combined power solution will be more efficient and reduce CO2 emissions.

The team has been pursuing this opportunity since Golar started with their first conversion project back in 2014. With Techouse’s demonstrated experience on existing HRSG’s installed in the North Sea and KANFA’s experience in designing and delivering (process) modules to stringent requirements, the team managed to secure this win. Delivery of the four modules in Singapore is planned for 4Q 2020 and offshore production is planned to start in 2022.
